By land

welcome sign You can't get here that way— it's an island!

OK, you can, but not entirely. You can however travel on land to one of the three Salt Spring Island ferry terminals, which are an extension of BC's Highways:
Long Harbour (from Tsawwassen, near Vancouver)
Fulford Harbour (from Swartz Bay, near Victoria)
Vesuvius (from Crofton, near Duncan)
Find schedules and other information at the BC Ferries website.

If your road ends at the water in the USA, you can get close by:
Victoria (from Seattle) on the passengery-only Victoria Clipper

Victoria (from Port Angeles) on the Coho

Sydney (from Anacortes and the San Juan Islands) on Washington State Ferries.

This probably means getting here on your own boat as we don't recommend the swim. There are a few rocks and lots of crab traps, so keep a sharp eye out matey!

Once you arrrive you may want to tie up at one of the marinas:

Fulford

Ganges

Saltspring (also in Ganges)

Need to rent a car/van/truck/scooter? (April to September)

Hopefully it will be a while before Salt Spring International Airport opens. In the meantime float planes are a quick and scenic way to get from Vancouver's South terminal (20 min) or from downtown (30 min).

Kenmore Air (Seattle and Victoria)

By some other method of travel...

welcome sign We're working on this. Teleport, and out-of-body-experience are the two leading ideas. We've sent a query out to Tinkerbell, but so far she's not answering her email, Twitter, or Facebook accounts. If you have any ideas, we'd love to hear them!
